Testimonials

I booked Pomeroy Treehouse as a surprise for my wife to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Given that we rarely spend any time away from our children, let alone a couple of nights, I really wanted it to be special… I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was covered, straight after booking I received a web based guide book for everything to do with the treehouse itself, how to operate all of that features that were there, how to access the property, what to do when we were leaving and all relevant contact numbers. We’d arrived in Wells (local town) early and as mentioned in the pack sent to us, messaged Christian to see if we could check in any earlier, much to our delight the answer was yes! We went to the property and pulling onto the gated driveway immediately knew it was going to be impressive. Every detail was great, the named parking spot, the wheelbarrow and torch to make the walk to the treehouse that bit easier. The treehouse itself is stunning, the photos don’t do it justice, again, every detail is covered. All you need for self catering is there & the pizza package was so good. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and went down well. Ultimately, we loved it all!

Testimonials

From the moment we stepped into Pomeroy Treehouse we absolutely loved it. The quirky trapdoor, the luxury, the clever practicalities, the obvious care for the eco-friendly element. The owner went above and beyond for us too. The information on the app was great. Could not fault this place at all. Highly recommended.

Testimonials

We spent two nights in Pomeroy Treehouse for our honeymoon. It had everything we needed and was the best treehouse we have stayed in so far. Being up amongst the trees made us feel like he had truly escaped from the rest of the world. The bath and sauna were amazing and we came home feeling pampered. The love, care and detail that went into building this beautiful treehouse are second to none. We would recommend anyone to stay here as it has left a magical imprint on our hearts and we will be left with life long memories here. Thank you.

Testimonials

Our stay at Pomeroy Tree House surpassed all our expectations. The photographs and description along with all the fabulous reviews on this site certainly had us excited about our stay but the reality: truly fabulous. This family run site is perfect in terms of privacy & peacefulness yet it’s still easily reachable by car to Wells if you want something more- which you won’t! The Tree House has EVREYTHING you could want (and includes those things you didn’t even know you wanted!) so that, like many others before us (judging by the reviews) once we were in, we drew up the trap door and didn’t come down for two days! We slept like bears in the ‘oh so cosy’ bed, ate like kings using the BBQ & pizza oven (highly recommend ordering the pizza making kit from the family before your stay as it was a lot of fun making the pizza’s), sizzled in the fantastic sauna, soaked our cares away in the enormous iron bath with the unexpected additional bubbles option while under the stars drink in hand and watched movies late into the night on the top deck warmed by the fire pit and lit by stars. Christian, Trevor, Hannah and Ben you have created a eutopia. Two very happy and peaceful people left you.

Laura

You’ll spy the space aloft amongst the pine trees, with willow branches draped around the circumference like a glistening green fringe. Up the handcrafted staircase, you’ll find a trap door, that you can lower behind you to shut yourself away from the world. The lounge, a deeply calm and inviting space, has floor to ceiling windows, and a wood burner for the chillier nights.

Despite having a generously equipped and stylishly furnished kitchen, Pomeroy also sports an outdoor kitchen area, with its own sink, BBQ, pizza oven and even an outdoor fridge – so either make an intimate meal for two in the warm confines of the kitchen or take to the balcony to enjoy food al fresco, with a view of fields towards the vineyard and the cathedral. The deck is coincidentally where you’ll also find the grand bathtub with an air spa system, large enough for two, which you can enjoy as an end of the day treat, staring out on the skyline glistening with stars as it fades from blue to black. The bath could also serve as a welcome rinse after a spell in the Finnish electric sauna on the deck, should you not be tempted to use the double outdoor showers just outside it. Were every meticulously crafted detail of this treehouse not enough, there is one last surprise, a pièce de résistance, hiding away in plain sight. If you follow the winding turn of the spiral staircase inside, you’ll emerge at the roof terrace – an enclosed square of relaxing real estate, draped in tumbling willow leaves, with seating by a gas fire pit, an outdoor tv built into the wall, and even a dumb waiter to bring snacks up from the main deck and back again, as well as a breakfast bar for taking your meals to new heights. Pomeroy isn’t just a mind-blowing treehouse stay, it’s the chance to visit your dreams.

By car

If travelling on the M4, exit at Junction 18 for Bath and follow the A39 to Wells.

Directions from Wells:

Take the Cheddar Road (A371) west out of Wells. Just as the houses on your left end you will reach the cemetery (Elm Close), bear off to the left onto the Wedmore Road (B3139).  After a mile you will pass the Burcott Inn on your right. Keep going for another 400 yards and you will see the Pheasant Inn at a fork in the road. Take the minor road (Castle Lane) on your left signposted Fenny Castle. Follow this, past the vineyard (go down the hill between the vineyard and the red brick cottage), you will go along some minor bends, then a sharper right hand bend. Within 100 yards is a junction with a farm on your left. Keep going straight on, you will pass Honeymead Farm. Only another 250 yards to go now. Watch out because the Lane narrows and is popular with horses, cyclists and walkers. After 200 yards you will see the tall firs which are the northern boundary of the property. The entrance is another 50 yards on the left hand side at the bottom of the small hill. Brown gates and Topiary? Yes you’ve made it to The Orchard!

Directions from Cheddar:

Take the Wells Road (A371) out of Cheddar. After approx 6.5 miles take the right turn (crossroads) into Henley lane. Travel along the lane into Wookey village and go past the Ring o Bells pub. Take the left hand bend and continue until the T-Junction. Turn right here. Keep going for another 200 yards, you will see the Pheasant Inn at a fork in the road. Take the minor road (Castle Lane) on your left signposted Fenny Castle. Follow this, past the vineyard (go down the hill between the vineyard and the red brick cottage), you will go along some minor bends, then a sharper right hand bend. Directions from Glastonbury:

Take the A39 towards Wells for approximately 4 miles, after a couple of red brick houses you will see a bus stop on your left in a hamlet called Polsham (be careful or you might miss it), turn hard left here. If you see Wells Reclamation (first business on left in Coxley), you’ve gone too far, turn around, go back and take first right on the bend, sign-posted Fenny Castle! Turn right in 120 yards and follow lane for approx 1 mile. Turn right at T-Junction, go past the farm immediately on your right, The entrance is next on the right hand side.
